RAMBAN, Feb 8: Demanding tehsil status, the resident of Ramsu blocked the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on the seventh day of their protest.
Thousands of residents of Ramsu assembled outside Niabat, marched towards National Highway and blocked the vehicular movement.
The protestors were raising slogans against the Government for not granting tehsil status to Ramsu.
On getting information, ADC Ramban and Tehsildar Banihal rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
They assured that the memorandum presented to them by the residents of Ramsu will be forwarded to Government for consideration.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed.
