Theft case worked out

JAMMU, Jan 27: Police in Bishnah area here claimed today they have solved a theft case by recovering a stolen vehicle from two people who have been arrested.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Station Bishnah by one Jaggu of Pasgal, Bishnah, who alleged theft of his Mahindra Pickup (JK02BD-7226) from Pasgal area.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 06/2024 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson said that two suspects later identified as Ashiq Husain of Rajbagh Kathua, and Abul Bilal of Tanda Burj near New Bridge Samba, were detained for questioning, who confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen vehicle worth around Rs 3 lakh was recovered.
According to the police spokesperson, one of the accused persons, Abu Bilal, is a notorious thief of Arnia/Bishnah, who was wanted in several theft cases registered at different police stations.
He said that further investigation is underway as more arrests are expected in the case.
