JAMMU, Jan 27: After getting an invitation from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Shree Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) has set up free langer seva at Ayodhya.
Shree Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) is the first and only organisation from J&K UT to setup free langer seva at Ayodhya.
“We see this as the blessing of Shri Ram that we’ll be running this community kitchen service for two months. We have a target of providing prasad to 20,000 devotees each day,” said SAYWS chairman Rajesh Gupta.
“It was a Ram-provided opportunity and we will make sure that ‘no one leaves the langar site unsatisfied. This opportunity has made every citizen of J&K very proud and registered our presence on the national scene,” SAYWS national president Kiran Wattal said.
SAYWS, which every year sets up a free langar opposite Jammu railway station here for Amarnath pilgrims, will be offering free langar services for two months to Ram Bhakts visiting the newly constructed Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya from across the globe.
The pran-prathistha of Ram Lalla was performed in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing rituals as ‘yajman’.
SAYWS has set up langar at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk near Ram Ki Poudi for the visiting devotees.
SAYWS senior vice-president Prem Sharma, general secretary Anil Gupta , vice-presidents Raman Suri & Tapan Dubey, secretary Pintooji Pandita, media coordinator Kamal Gangoo and executive members – Kuldeep Luthra, Rakash Malhotra, Ashwani Gupta, Ashwani, Kundan Lal, Ajay Bhat, M L Padroo, Avtar, Bitoo ji and Roshan Lal Pandita – have thanked all those who are helping in this noble cause and hoped that the initiative would go a long way in establishing J&K’s linkage with the holy city in coming time.
