JAMMU, Jan 18: Jammu Printers Association has demanded the Government to allot all Government works including printing works of various offices and J&K Board to the local printers instead of outsiders.
The Association highlighted their demands in a function held here today. The function started with lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries followed by release of Jammu Printers Association’s official website and yearly calendar.
Speaking on the occasion, President, Jammu Printers’ Association, Joginder Singh raised various issues related to printing fraternity. He specifically pointed out the outsourcing of Government printing works from outside the State and frequent price hike by paper mills.
President, Kashmir Printers’ Association, Shabir Ahmed, raised the issue of lack of skilled labour in printing industry and appealed the Government to start ITI course for printing trainees as Government of India has already launched a national educational vocational programme recognized by AITC.
