JAMMU, Nov 13: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here staged Hindi play ‘Sahara’ written and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play begins with actors narrating about children who lost their parents in wars, epidemics, natural disasters and accidents.
A girl narrates the painful story wherein she along with her siblings lost their parents in terrorism and the artists inspire common people to support children.
In second scene, a young girl Ganga narrates that as soon as she regained consciousness in her childhood, she found herself in an orphanage and she does not know what parents and relationships were but today she is very happy because along with parents she has also got a life partner. She says that she is no longer an orphan and has a family of her own and this has been possible only because of the parents who adopted her.
Even after five years of marriage, no child has been born to Ganga and with the idea of adopting a child she reaches District Child Protection Unit to know rules and regulations of adoption process. Here the officer provides information to Ganga regarding rules applicable in adoption process.
In another scene, a couple, who wishes to adopt a child between the age group of 6-18, learns about rules of child adoption. While explaining the process of adoption of older children, the officer inspires the common people to support these orphan children and thus the play ends.
Natrang young artists who performed in the play were Abhimanyu Choudhary, Aadesh Dhar, Kushal Bhat, Palshin Dutta, Mehak Chib and Vishal Sharma.
