JAMMU, Nov 3: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with STAP presented a weeklong special Nukkad Natak programme on ‘Dengue’ through musical play ‘Inderdhanush’ at Janipur.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest V.K Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity.
Former Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur, Dr. Tara Singh Charak presided over the function.
Specially prepared awareness items for the occasion were ‘Chara Da Bukhar’, ‘Roko Roko Malaria Gi Roko’, ‘Bacho Bacho Dengu Kola Bacho’ etc along with skits and folk songs to aware the masses.
The chief guest said that the world has made historic progress against malaria, saving millions of lives. “However, half the world still lives at risk from this preventable and treatable disease, which costs a child’s life every two minutes,” he maintained.
Earlier welcoming the audience Dr. M.L Dogra, BLSKS chairman said, as children are more prone to this disease, it is important to create awareness among them.
Singers, musician, actors and students of Music and Computer Institute who performed in the musical play were Usha Raina, Rajni Gupta, M.C Kotwal, Sanjeev Kumar, Renu Bala, Naiya Meenia and others.
