SRINAGAR : One-way traffic will continue on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country till further orders.
The vehicle will ply from Jammu to Kashmir, traffic police officials said adding no vehicle will be allowed from Srinagar to Jammu. This will allow free movement of vehicles and avoid traffic jams on the highway.
They said hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, left Jammu and other parts of the region on Wednesday morning to Kashmir valley. A large number of trucks, loaded with essentials are also moving towards the valley.
Kashmir valley is importing all essentials, including fresh vegetables, chicken, sheeps and milk from other parts of the country round the year. (AGENCIES)
