JAMMU, Jan 12: The Universal Friendship Society (TUFS) organised 24th annual free medical and eye camp at village Thathi, Jandyal.
The camp was inaugurated by Sewa Singh of Kotli and Vakil Chand Sharma of Thathi, Rampal Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Gharota was the chief guest, while Shiv Dev Singh, ex-MLA, Bhagat Singh Zandiq, Tarseem Singh Manhas, Dayal Singh and Raghubir Singh Chib were also present.
A team of seven specialist doctors including Dr Kirpal Singh, Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr Pratibha Gupta, Dr Avtar Singh, Dr Baljit Kaur, Tarlok Singh and Pritam Singh examined the patients from village Thathi and surrounding areas.
A total of 382 patients were examined and treated. All the patients were given free medicines. 152 eye patients were prescribed spectacles by the eye consultant. Spectacles will be provided by the society.
Dr Kirpal Singh, president of the society assured the people that he will take up their problems including poor health conditions, erratic power supply, irregular drinking water supply, etc with the concerned authorities for redressal.
Among others present were Surjeet Kaur, Deedar Singh, Jeevan Sharma, Nanak Kour, Kamlesh, Inderpal Singh, Jagjit Singh, Supinder Singh, Mehar Singh, Ashok Kumar Choudhary, Harinder Pal Singh, Pushpinder Singh and Mohinder Singh.
