KATRA, Oct 22: Top personalities from Bollywood, including actors, singers, directors and film makers are going to perform or act as judges in final of the ongoing All India Devotional Song Competition at Navratra Festival in Katra.
This was informed by Chairman of All Indian Devotional Song Committee, Rakesh Wazir, while addressing a press conference, here today.
“Ganesh Jain, former SMVD Shrine Board member & Managing Director Venus Worldwide and maker of more than 50 movies; Pahlaj Nihlani, former Chairman Central Board of Film Certification and film maker who has made more than 40 movies; former actress Poonam Sinha and wife of famous actor Shatrugan Sinha; Shankar Sawhney, the leading film Industry singer, film makers Rishi Raj, Kumar Mohan will be the Judges/performers in the final of Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition on October 23,” he said.
The live telecast of the event will be available on Mh1 from 9 PM onwards and the entry for this event will be free to all at Yog Ashram Complex, Katra the venue of the competition.
Rakesh Wazir said that besides the live performances of the singers who have reached the finals, the people will also see the live performances of renowned singers of the film Industry vis-à-vis former winners of Mega Finals including Shanker Sawhney, Amrinder Bobby, Sonali Dogra, Mool Raj, Ravi Kumar etc.
“This All India Devotional Song Competition has contributed a lot to the country and Union Territory J&K in particular and given platform to many singers in the film industry including Himani Kapoor, Sonali Dogra, Mool Raj, Naveen Punjabi, Rajan Gill, Ravi Kumar, Sanjeet Kumar, Anjusha, Vanshkia Jaral, Ananya etc.
Meanwhile, in the quarter final of the competition, 21 participants competed among each other for their entry into semi final and out of these, Rajeev Salotra from Jammu, Anmol Raja from Hoshiarpur, Laisal Roy from Chandigarh, Shyam Sajan from Reasi, Reema from Kanyalal, Shubham Banerjee from Jammu, Aarav Wazir from Katra, Vanshika Dogra from Udhampur, Lalit Bhardwaj from Jammu, Aayati Sharma from Jammu, Chetan Sanmotra from Katra got their entry into the semi final.
