JAMMU, Jan 10: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Sanjay Parihar today awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 20,000 to Nana Ji Handoo, the then Project Manager DIC Jammu, in corruption case.
According to the Vigilance case, Nana Ji Handoo was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe from an oil mill owner namely Darshan Lal for issuance of assessment certificate on April 16, 2005.
After hearing Senior PO Himanshu Gupta for the State whereas Advocate Rajesh Kotwal for the accused, Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption convicted the accused and awarded him two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 20,000.
“Out of the fine an amount of Rs 10,000 shall be given to complainant as compensation for miseries suffered by him”, the Court directed.
