UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: Police today arrested two bootleggers and seized 108 pouches of illicit liquor, which was being smuggled by the duo in a Tata Sumo.
The accused, identified as Mohinder Singh and Sohan Singh of Doda, were arrested during a surprise checking of vehicles on the National Highway near Kud. The Police party intercepted the Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK06-5271, which was on way from Jammu to Doda, and recovered 108 pouches of liquor.
A case under Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Kud Police Station.
