JAMMU, Jan 7: The people of holy town Katra held a meeting under the chairmanship of former president Municipal Committee Mulkh Raj Purohit at Raghunath temple, Katra.
On the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma, Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma, president Hotel and Restaurant Association Shyam Lal Kesar, BSP State general secretary Rakesh Wazir, PDP district president Partap Krishan, besides many other prominent personalities of the town were present.
The participants expressed concern over the recent crisis happened in the town due to the judgment of the Division Bench of High Court with regard to the seizing of buildings.
The speakers said that most of the buildings falling in the present case are actually fully approved and made in accordance with the Master Plan norms but were not properly represented in the court of law by the concerned authorities and as a result this crisis happened.
Apart from buildings of private parties, Government buildings will also get seized, they added.
During the meeting, the participants passed the resolution that all such Government buildings be ceased first by the administration, which were constructed without permission of Municipal Committee (MC) and Development Authority (DA) before the buildings owned by private persons/bodies.
Later, the participants of the meeting took out a procession, which after passing through the main bazaar culminated at Bus Stand.
