JAMMU, Oct 1: Narotam Sharma, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 3, today laid the foundation stone of the additional hall at the Peer Kho Akhada in Jammu East Constituency.
He was accompanied by Mahant Rajinder Nath of Peer Kho temple during the foundation stone laying programme.
Peer Kho Akhada (traditional gym) is one of the oldest Akhadas in the Jammu City, which is visited by hundreds of fitness freaks every day.
As per a statement, the additional hall at the Akhada would be built at an estimated cost of Rs 17 lakh and would also have modern machines for gym that would largely help the youth visiting the Akhada.
According to Narotam, sports, games, and physical activities help channelize the energy of youth in a right direction and keep them away from drugs.
Mahant Rajinder Nath appreciated Narotam Sharma for his continuous efforts in the development of the old city areas.
