JAMMU, Sept 7: In connection with the 41st death anniversary of Late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, a blood donation camp was organized at J&K National Conference office in Jammu today.
The camp, organized by Bimbla Luthra, a former (MLA, was inaugurated by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial president of National Conference for Jammu in presence of senior party leaders Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Abdul Gani Malik former Minister, Vijay Lochan, Rakesh Singh Raka, Dilshad Malik, Pinky Khalsa, Rashpal Singh and Dr Sheikh Amina.
The blood donation camp aimed to pay tribute to the late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, a visionary leader and a prominent figure in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Rattan Lal Gupta emphasized the importance of serving humanity and carrying forward Sheikh Abdullah’s legacy. He stated, “Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was not only a political leader but also a humanitarian who always prioritized the welfare of the people. Organizing this blood donation camp is a fitting tribute to his selfless spirit.”
He said that the selfless act of donating blood not only helps save lives but also symbolizes the spirit of unity and compassion that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah embodied throughout his life.
Gupta described Sheikh Abdullah as a guiding force and leading light of the freedom struggle, who, besides making the movement inclusive, unveiled revolutionary socio-economic programmes for laying a sound edifice of Naya Jammu & Kashmir. He said best tribute which could be paid to Sheikh Abdullah would be for the people to work with a missionary zeal for strengthening J&K’s deep rooted secular traditions and the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity, for ensuring peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Bimbla Luthra, expressing her gratitude towards all the participants and the community for their support, said, “I am grateful to everyone who came forward to donate blood and remember towering leader Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.”
