JAMMU, July 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress Sewadal today held a protest demonstration at Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Satwari over the incidents of violence in Manipur.
Earlier during the day, Congress Sewadal J&K chief Vijay Sharma held protest over the shocking video of two women being paraded naked in Manipur by a mob.
J&K Congress Sewadal chief burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah against the inhuman and shameful incident with women in Manipur in all the district of the State. In this series, under the auspices of the Congress Sewadal J&K-UT, the burning of effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah against the inhuman and shameful incident with women in Manipur in Ranchi, the State Capital, on Thursday at Albert Ekka Chowk, carried out under the leadership of Congress Sewadal chief J&K-UT.
Addressing the media after the effigy burning programme, Vijay Sharma said that it is extremely shameful and condemnable that even in the 21st century, such vandalism is done to a woman. He said that such incidents are happening more in BJP-ruled States. He said that this incident of Manipur has brought shame not only to Manipur but to the whole of India.
He said that the BJP, which gave the slogan of ‘Beti Padhao Beti Bachao’, should tell whether daughters will be saved in this way. He said that when will the Modi Government stop pretending that all is well, when the Chief Minister of Manipur will be removed. The silence and inaction of the Prime Minister has pushed Manipur towards anarchy. He said that the viral video against women is heart wrenching. Questioning the Prime Minister, he said whether such incidents do not make the Prime Minister restless.
