KISHTWAR, Apr 10: Police today booked a butcher for slaughtering chickens in inhumane manner and against the religious norms of a particular community.
A video went viral on social media of a chicken shop somewhere at Bus Stand Kishtwar where a butcher was seen slaughtering bulk of chickens in inhumane and cruel manner which also irked a particular community as the slaughtering was being done by the erring butcher against the religious norms.
On this, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal directed SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari to take appropriate action against the erring butcher. The SHO along with Food and Safety Inspector Kishtwar and Executive Magistrate raided the shop of the accused butcher and sealed it. Moreover, the license of the shop was cancelled and preventive proceedings under relevant sections of law were taken against the erring butcher.
SSP Kishtwar has warned all chicken butchers to refrain from such behaviour and if anyone is found hurting the sentiments of general public, he shall be dealt with iron hands.
