RAMBAN, Mar 20: The vehicular traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained suspended for about 15 hours since last evening due to land slides at several places in Ramban sector.

Official sources said that in view of rain, land and mud-slides took place at Mehar, Cafeteria Morh near Ramban and Shalgarhi and Sherbibi near Banihal. Due to blockade, the traffic remained disrupted in Shalgarhi-Sherbibi area for about seven hours and 30 minutes and nearly six hours at Mehar and Cafeteria Morh today. The traffic also remained disrupted at T-N Tunnel for about two hours due to another blockade.
While Mehar-Cafeteria area was cleared during the day but due to mudslides at Shalgarhi several vehicles got stuck. The movement of vehicles remained suspended during the afternoon as well. No movement of light vehicles from Udhampur or Qazigund side was allowed by the Traffic Police authorities. The movement will be allowed tomorrow morning if road condition improved, a Traffic official said.
