JAMMU, Feb 7: Continuing efforts on providing a clean and virtuous ambience to the residents of Ward-41, Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and local JMC councillor, Sanjay Kumar Baru along with Mandal president, Keshav Chopra, Ward president, Ashok Wazir, Jatin Sethi, Chaman Lal Bhagat and others started the construction work of culverts and deep drain at Colonel Colony, Bohri in Ward-41 today.
Sanjay Kumar Baru said that in last four years this region has witnessed a massive facelift by means of various developmental works. He said that the construction of various developmental projects is apace and on completion of these schemes, it will change the total outlook of the area.
Pertinent to mention here that in this specific area of Ward 41 i.e. Colonel Colony culverts blockage is a frequent nuisance subsequently causing chaos during all rainy seasons for locals since long due to poor drainage system.
Baru told that this development work is one among the various development works sanctioned under city town plan with estimated cost of Rs 36 lakh rupees and would be executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Baru said that the highly reputed Colonel Colony locality was constructed in early nineties with much hype but, since then, there was no proper drainage system. He said that with the ongoing construction of deep drain, this dire issue faced by the local residents would be resolved.

JMC Supervisor Ward-41 William Masih, Shaktikendra Parmukh Ashok Wazir, Rakesh Sharma, Jatinder Khajuria, Ashish Mangotra, Babu Ram, Jangjeet Singh, Daleep Mithas, Gresh Sharma, Lokesh Bhagat, Kewal Sharma, Onkar Verma, Sanjay Sharma, Parveen Kumar, Naseeb Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
