JAMMU, Jan 6: While condemning lathicharge on Rehbar-e-Khel teachers protesting for their genuine demands, Apni Party Youth wing today said that the action of the cops on peacefully protesting ReK employees, including females, is indication that UT Administration in J&K is adopting oppressive means to stifle voice of the people.
“The brutal lathi-charge on ReK teachers including female is an indication that UT Administration has decided to gag voice of the workers through force and brutality,” Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, vice president Apni Party Youth wing said.
He further stated that it is really shameful and inhuman that instead of listening the grievances of the aggrieved Rehbar-e-Khel teachers authorities directed cops to use brutal force against agitating workers who were protesting peacefully. The use of police against the work force is no solution to the long pending issue as it would only lead to turbulence in the J&K UT, he added.
Apni Party leader urged the LG Administration to address the genuine demands of ReK teachers on priority as thousands of family members were dependent on such employees for sustenance and livelihood.
