Bureaucratic system forced upon J&K people failed: Vakil

JAMMU, Jan 2: J&K Peoples Conference (PC) senior vice president and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today said that the bureaucratic system forced upon the people of J&K has failed at every front.
“Unemployment is touching new heights, apple sector is in losses, developmental work is in name only and the ruling dispensation is restricted to press statements making lofty claims while on ground the situation is pathetic,” Vakil said while addressing party workers here.
He asserted that promises and claims made by J&K government which included jobs for thousands of educated youth have not yielded any results so far and today the situation is such that the unemployment rate of J&K is at a record high of 23 per cent.
Vakil also flayed the J&K government for not taking serious measures to curb drug menace in the UT.
The meeting was also addressed by PC vice president, Syed Basharat Bukhari and general secretary, Mansoor Hussain Suharwadi who said that the recent recruitment processes have come under scanner leaving the aspiring applicants hopeless.
The meeting was presided over by Mohan Lal Radha, PC district president Jammu.
