KATHUA, Nov 18 : Continuing its “War on drugs drive to contain the spread of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances within the district, Kathua police under the guidance of SSP, R C Kotwal today seized 29 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics, one electronic weighing machine, one sharp edged weapon ( Knife) along with cash amount of Rs. 1,01880/- near Talain bridge at Gujroo Nagrota area and in this connection one drug peddler was arrested.
Police said today a team led by Inspector, Sunil Kumar SHO Police Station (PS) Billawar under the supervision of SDPO, Billawar, Arvind Kumar during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Talain bridge near Gujroo Nagrota area apprehended one notorious drug peddler namely Bhag Hussain @ Bhagu son of Shuma Ali of Garh Samna, Banj tehsil Majalta district Udhampur. During checking 29 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics, one electronic weighing machine, one sharp edge weapon (knife) as well as cash amount of Rs. 1,01880/- was also recovered from his illegal possession.
During the arrest accused person Bagh Hussain alias Baghu attacked upon the police team with a sharp edge knife in which two police personnel got injured.
An instant case vide FIR No. 168/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Billawar and further investigation is underway.
