TUCC Srinagar convention

Srinagar, Nov 18: A delegates’ convention of the Trade Union Coordination Centre (TUCC), which is a recognized Central Trade Union organization, was today held here at Tagore hall.
The convention was attended by the leaders and members of different government employees unions, temporary workers unions, seasonal workers unions and unorganized worker’s associations deliberated upon the long pending demands.
In the convention, Rameshwar Teli, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment was the chief guest along with the guest of honour, National general secretary of TUCC SP Tiwari who is also the standing committee member of ESIC, Govt of India.
While addressing the convention, Rameshwar Teli assured the delegates in the convention that the issues about the working force of J&K which were highlighted in the day-long convention will be put before the Central Government and the UT administration for their early settlement especially the regularization of more than 61000 temporary workers, utilization of services of seasonal workers as per the provisions envisaged in the constitution.
He also said that the UT Government will be apprised to implement the Minimum Wage Act as per the components of revised rates at par with the other states of the country.
Minister highlighted the initiatives taken by the Central Government under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi for the welfare of the workers.
He assured the leadership of TUCC of assistance from the Ministry for the early settlement of genuine demands.
The convention was organized by the State Committee TUCC (J&K) under the leadership of Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani, National secretary and president TUCC (J&K).
J&K National Trade Union Front president Mohammad Gafoor Dar, president J&K Civil Society Forum Ghulam Mohammad Hamdard and senior trade union leaders of J&K were present.
Addressing the convention SP Tiwari highlighted the long pending demands of the working force of J&K who were deprived of their legitimate rights for a long time.
He urged upon the UT Government for early regularization of all the temporary workers who were engaged from 1994 up to 2015 and are working tirelessly on meagre wages which is sheer injustice to these temporary workers.
