JAMMU, Nov 10: Yudhvir Sethi, vice president, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir appealed to the Government to take adequate measures in resolving the shortage of water being faced by the residents of Jammu East constituency once for all.
He was speaking during the public grievances camp held at Pt Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan, Kacchi Chawni here today.
During the camp, Yudhvir Sethi listened to grievances of the people. Dozens of people including from Ram Talai Temple from Ward No 2, Gumat Bazaar shopkeepers and others attended the public grievances camp at the party office and put forth their woes pertaining to basic amenities including inadequate facilities at health centres and chaos in making new ration card, etc before the senior BJP leaders. They sought immediate resolution of their pressing issues.
Yudhvir Sethi, listened to the people’s genuine issues. After getting some of the issues resolved instantaneously by talking to the authorities concerned on phone, he assured to take up the rest of their issues with the concerned authorities and get the same resolved at the earliest.
Raising serious concern over the problems being faced by the general public due to shortage of water supply, Sethi, on the spot, called telephonically a senior functionary of Jal Shakti Department and asked him to look into the matter. He said that Central Government has launched prestigious Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme aiming to provide tap water to every household. He asked the concerned authorities to address the water shortage issues so that people would not face any problem due to water scarcity.
Expressing concern over the issue raised by Shopkeepers of Gumat Bazaar with regard to ongoing development work under the Smart City Project, Sethi appealed to the authorities concerned to make sure that while carrying out development works the business of shopkeepers of Gumat Bazaar may not affected at any costs.
Sethi said that Bharatiya Janata Party is fully committed to address the problems being faced by the people in general and that of Jammu city in particular.
