JAMMU, Oct 9: Jammu University marks certificates will now carry photograph of the candidate as the Vice-Chancellor, JU Prof M P S Ishar today inaugurated the in-house computerized results with photographs of MCA 6th Semester examination 2013.
In the first step, all the students of the professional courses, where computerization has been introduced, shall get their mark certificates and degrees with photographs from the Session 2013 onwards.
The move will reduce the chances of misuse of marks card through impersonation as well as the need for attestation which is currently a major source of inconvenience for most of the students.
In the second phase, this process shall be introduced to other Post Graduate courses as well.
The VC congratulated the Controller of Examinations Prof Keshav Sharma and his team especially Dr Dharminder Magotra, Dy Registrar Computer Section and Ravi Kant Verma Assistant Programmer for the new initiative.
He hoped that this step of the in-house Computer Section of the Examination Wing shall lead to total computerization of the candidate record i.e from enrolment to the issuance of the degree electronically.
Pertinent to mention that the registration returns (RR) of all the Post Graduate courses were obtained on-line from various PG departments on the Campus, Offsite Campuses and the affiliated PG colleges. The internal assessment record of all the PG courses were also obtained on-line for the session 2012-13.
Others who were present on the occasion, included Registrar Prof Manoj K Dhar, Jai Kumar Sharma, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia Dr Prakash, Romesh Khajuria, Vinay Thusoo, Nikh-ilesh Sharma, Ram Lal and Akhilesh Sharma.
