DODA, Aug 22: The dead body of an 8-year-old boy, who drowned yesterday in a nallah at Khaljugsar, was recovered today from the Nallah near Goilbar area of sub district Gandoh Bhallessa.
Soon after getting information of drowning, Gandoh Police yesterday started a rescue operation along with locals but despite extensive search, the boy could not be traced till late evening and the rescue operation was suspended due to darkness.
Today, locals spotted the dead body of the boy in the Nallah at Khaljugsar area and informed the police, which fished out the body from the nallah and shifted it to PHC Changa for postmortem. The deceased boy was identified as Siraj Ud din son of Wali Mohd, resident of Degi (block Changa).
Station House Officer, Police Station Gandoh, Inspector Vikrm Singh said that dead body was handed over to family after performing all the legal formalities.
