SRINAGAR, Aug 10: The Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir frontier, Raja Babu, today said that the BSF is committed to nation-building and spreading nationalism amongst the people of the Valley.
He made these remarks on the sidelines of a motorcycle Tiranaga rally that was organized by the BSF in Srinagar to mark the celebrations of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ahead of the country’s 75th anniversary of Independence.
Babu said the BSF is committed to spreading nationalism among the people of the Valley and this year’s Independence Day celebrations are special as they are being held in a new and developed Kashmir.
“Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking the 75th anniversary of Independent India, is being held in a new and developed Kashmir. It is celebrated to disseminate the idea of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and this year’s celebration of Independence Day is unique because it’s taking place in a new and developed Kashmir,” he said.
The IG said that the BSF has organized a Bike Tiranga rally that passed through numerous significant locations in the city in order to spread the message of nationalism throughout the entire nation but notably among Kashmiri youth. “The youth are urged to step forth and participate in the creation of this new Kashmir and its future. The entire nation, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, is united,” he said.
He said that the BSF, being the First Line of Defence, is committed to nation-building and spreading nationalism amongst the people of the Valley. He added that the locals participated with great pride in celebrations of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, which turned into a grand carnival.
The Srinagar Sector BSF arranged the “Tiranga Motorcycle Rally,” in which 150 motorcyclists on 75 motorcycles took part. The Tiranga Motor Cycle Rally was flagged off from Panthachowk by two young Kashmiri girls in the presence of A Srinivasan, Subhash Chandra, and S S Chandel, DIsG, senior officers, and local dignitaries. The rally moved through BB Cantt, Dal Gate, and Nishat Bagh.
The local audience was mesmerized by the rendering of patriotic tunes by the BSF Jazz/Brass Band. The rally then swung around and finished at Pantha Chowk. At many locations in Srinagar, the residents greeted the motorbikes hoisting the Tri-colors with tremendous excitement and showed a strong sense of patriotism.
