Power Ministry organizes ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ at JKTDC Patnitop

UDHAMPUR, July 26: The Ministry of Power in association with NHPC Limited & JPDCL organized ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ at JKTDC Patnitop for Village Mandlotin.
The Bijli Mahotsav is being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 for more public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large.
Lal Chand, Chairman, DDC Udhampur inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp in the presence of respected public representatives and senior officials. Various cultural programmes, nukkad nataks and screening of short films on the power sector were organized. The events also witnessed several beneficiaries sharing their experiences.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DDC Udhampur told the gathering that the Government is trying to ensure the availability of electricity for all through various schemes. He said for the purpose, the Government has taken several steps in the last eight years. Saubhagya Yojana, DDUGJY, PM-Kusum Yojana are such public welfare schemes from which common people are getting benefited, he added.
P D Singh, SE, O&M (JPDCL) gave the gathering detailed information about the program being run for the public and highlighted the benefits of electricity schemes and the unprecedented growth achieved by the power sector over the past few years.
Numerous dignitaries graced the occasion which saw large turnouts of crowds from nearby villages and districts.
