JAMMU, July 25: A virtual meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was held under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, Forum chairman in which various issues of teaching community were discussed.
It was unanimously decided in the meeting to strengthen the Forum by expediting membership drive.
Senior Forum leaders demanded central pay scales under the pattern of other Union Territories (UTs) in favour of the teaching cadres of J&K.
Forum leaders requested the Government to implement the agreement reached between the Government and the Forum to remove pay anomaly of Master Grade lying pending since long.
Restoration of old pension scheme in favour of all those employees who were appointed after January 1, 2010 under the new pension scheme was also demanded.
The Forum leaders decided to meet J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha with a request to resolve all the pending issues of the teachers at the earliest.
Demand of reviewing whole of the ATD in order to provide justice to the aggrieved Masters and Teachers was also raised.
Mohd Shafi Rather, Surat Singh Toofani, Farooq Ahmed Sofi, Arsalan Habib, Darshan Sharma, Jamayat Ali Agah, Rajinder Gupta, B.A Thoker, Ravinder Singh, Gh Nabi Ganai, Kuldeep Bandral, Mohd. Akbar Dar, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, P.D Singh, Peer Sharif-ud-din, Kuldeep Verma, Surinder Sharma, Gh. Qadir Mir, Pawan Sharma, Samir Fida and others were also present in the meeting.
