JAMMU, Sept 13: Four persons including a Head Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police were killed when a Maruti car, they were travelling in, plunged into deep gorge at Margo area of Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway early this morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AF-7308 was on its way from Jammu to Baramulla when it suddenly went out of the control of driver and plunged into deep gorge.
On the receipt of information, a police party from Ramban Police Station swung into action and started rescue operation. After hectic efforts, all the four occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were brought out of the gorge and rushed to District Hospital where doctors declared them as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Parvinder Singh, Head Constable of JKAP 7th Battalion and son of Jagjit Singh of Sunjwan, his wife Satvinder Kour, Shalinder Kour, wife of Naginder and minor girl Ranjit Kour, daughter of Sanjit Singh of Nanak Nagar.
Police has registered a case in this connection.
