RAJOURI, Sept 10: The police today seized 20 bovine animals and two vehicles and arrested five persons in this connection in Nowshera and Thannamandi area today.
A police spokesman said that Nowshera police party led by SDPO Pardeep Kumar and SHO Yash Pal seized 10 bovine animals during wee hours today and arrested three smugglers. They were identified as Mohd Farooq, Mohd Bashir and Mohd Yousuf, all residents of Pannad in Rajouri.
Thannamandi police party led by SDPO Mujib-ur-Rehman, seized two vehicles with registration Numbers JK-11/7486 and JK-11/7257 and rescued 10 bovine animals. They were being transported to Kashmir via Mughal Road. Those arrested are- Iftikhar Ahmed and Shah Nawaj of Darhal.
