State rulers compelling OBCs to live miserable life: Kashyap

JAMMU, Sept 8: National general secretary, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Rajya Sabha member, Narinder Kashyap today said that the negative attitude of the State rulers towards OBCs is compelling OBC youths to live the life of many hardships.
The OBC’s Fundamental Constitutional Rights of 27% reservation in the State Government services has been totally crushed by the State rulers due to wrong classification of ‘Socially and Educationally Backward’ as per State Reservation Act- 2004 and Reservation Rules vide SRO-294 of 2005 despite the implementation of judgment of Supreme Court in 1992 on Mandal Commission Report -1980, he added.
He argued that the Article 15(4) and 16(4) of the Indian Constitution have no provision for vertical reservation on the basis of geography and language.
He was speaking during a one-day convention organized by BSP on “Discrimination with OBCs residing in J&K” at Shri Guru Naba Dass Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Dogra Hall, where he was invited as a chief guest.
Kashyap further said that the issue of trifurcation of State is the only solution to shutdown the discrimination with Jammu and Ladkah regions. With the trifurcation of the State, the Article-370 will be abolished automatically and West Pakistan Refugees will get citizenship right, big industry houses will invest in the State thus creating huge employment.
Regarding the relief to the effected persons of Kishtwar violence, he said that the State Government is not serious as no compensation has been paid till date so for.
The convention was organized under the chairmanship BSP State president, Tulsi Dass Langeh.
Gurnam Singh Choudhary, Co-ordinator for J&K State was the guest of honour while RL Chargotra, State vice-president, Rattan Lal Bhagat, Mohinder Kashyap and Arjit Kumar Kashyap were also present.
