JAMMU, May 23: Satwari Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered around 26.03 grams of heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling in Manguchak area, a team from Police Station Satwari intercepted two persons standing with a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, one person escaped from the spot while another was apprehended.
During checking, police team recovered around 26.03 grams of heroin from the possession of the arrested person.
The arrested person was identified as Nanak Chand, son of Madan Lal of Kotli Mafi, Magowali, RS Pura, while the escaped person has been identified as Sadiq Ali alias Kaka Gujjar, son of Saraj Din of Arnia, RS Pura.
A case FIR Number 93/2022 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Sameer Jiilani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma.
