BARAMULLA, May 23: Touseef Raina was today re-elected as President of Municipal Council Baramulla, defeating BJP’s Tanveer Peer.
Touseef, who had lost the no confidence motion that was moved against him by Councillors last month, secured 11 votes out of 19 and defeated his opponent, Tanveer Peer from BJP who got 8 votes.
Four other candidates , including Musadir Tantray and Omar Kakroo, who were also contesting for the post of President, did not get any vote.
It is pertinent to mention here that Touseef was elected as President of MC Baramulla last year also defeating Tantray by a margin of four votes.
