KISHTWAR, May 23: Police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered large quantity of intoxicant capsules from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Kishtwar led by SHO Inspector Abid Bukhari under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Ashish Gupta and SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt laid a naka at Malipath and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 40 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Anzar Beig, son of Ghulam Qadir Beig, a resident of Cherhar District Kishtwar. Later, 1500 more intoxicant capsules were recovered from the house of the arrested person.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
