JAMMU, May 16: Kashmir Pandit Sabha (KPS), president KK Khosa today criticised the District administration Budgam for resorting unprovoked cane charge and firing of teargas shells on peacefully agitating PM package employees in Kashmir.
Khosa said, “The Pandit community is aghast and hurt at the deplorable behaviour of the District administration Budgam which resorted to unprovoked lathi charge and firing of teargas shells on the employees over the dastardly killing of their colleague- late Rahul Bhat by terrorists in his office at Chadoora.”
He alleged that the media personnel were ordered out from the area where the protest was being held before they rained lathis on the hapless employees and treated them as criminals. The recent targeted killing has not only made the community sad but has also snatched away whatever little semblance of sense of security which the employees were having upto then.
The agitating employees gave an ultimatum to the UT Government that if it has failed to provide security to them then they should be transferred out of Kashmir immediately or else they will submit mass resignations from their jobs.
“The community is losing its faith due to callous and biased mindset of the bureaucracy towards the Kashmiri Pandit community, KPS alleged, adding that the terrorist organisations continue to issue threats to the employees, subsequently a feeling of insecurity and fear is being developed among the employees, posted in Kashmir under the PM package.
They appealed the UT Government and Government of India to reach out to them at once by arranging a visit of a high level delegation comprising of high ranking officers along with community representatives in order to take first hand stock of the situation and also demanded a fear probe by the NIA into the incident.
