KPC invites PM’s attention towards burning issues of KPs

JAMMU, Apr 23: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has invited the attention of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who is visiting Jammu tomorrow towards the burning issues of displaced Pandits from Valley who are the main victims of terrorism.
It demanded one place settlement of displaced KPs at the “land of Kashyap” in Kashmir Valley, constitution of high level Commission of Enquiry to probe the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits in 1989–90, delinking of PM package from return to Valley
and it’s benefits be given at present locations of displacement, passage of Temples and Shrines Bill registering of F.I.Rs and action against all those who are responsible for KPs massacres and killings besides those responsible for looting of property, ransacking and torching it in the Valley during the turmoil.
It also demanded grant of four constituencies in exile for displaced KPs in the Valley and one seat each in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, funds and grant in aid to be allocated by the Centre exclusively for the displaced KPs, release of 50 % of pending amount against the ex-gratia, displaced KP youth be appointed in Central Government departments / undertakings, one time financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh be given to overage K.P. youths, distress sale of K.Ps land and property since 1990 till date be totally nullified, encroachment of land and property of displaced KPs and unauthorized occupation of their properties and religious places be removed, grant of promotions to PM package employees especially JEs and providing of accommodations to package employees besides other burning issues including safeguarding the interests of displaced traders from Valley, constitution of Advisory Committee of Displaced KPs, construction of more quarters at Jammu for those people who are living in rented accommodations and dilapidated quarters at Purkhoo, besides Jagti type township be constructed at Delhi NCR etc.
