JAMMU, Apr 11: Akhnoor Police arrested two persons and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid a naka and apprehended two persons along with 47 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested persons were identified as Darshan Lal, son of Prem Chand of Barui Tehsil Maira Mandrian District Jammu and Lakeshwar, son of Bansi Lal of Bawetalab District Jammu.
Both the persons were carrying the illicit liquor for selling among the common masses to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 92/2022 under Section 48 (a) and (f) Excise Act has been registered against the arrested persons and investigation started.
