UDHAMPUR, Mar 19: In separate cases, a shopkeeper among two drug peddlers was arrested and Heroin like substance was recovered from their possession.
Police said that 5.95 grams of Heroin and cash of Rs 30950 were recovered from a chicken shop at Kaghote in Ramnagar. The accused shopkeeper was identified as Ramesh Kumar, son of Dhuni Chand of Kaghote.
Acting on specific information regarding the supply of contraband substance among the youth, a Police team led by SHO Ramnagar, Inspector Pushpinder Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey, raided the chicken shop and recovered Heroin as well as cash from possession of the shop owner.
Police arrested the shopkeeper and registered case FIR number 41/2022, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act in PS Ramnagar and further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, Police patrolling party of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Sahil Mahajan apprehended another drug peddler from Circular Road near Mini Bus Stand Udhampur.
Police recovered 6.54 grams of contraband heroin like narcotic substance from possession of the accused, who was identified as Sajad Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid of Jakhani, Udhampur.
In this regard, case FIR number 109/2022, under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Udhampur for further investigation.
