KISHTWAR, Aug 7: The Director of Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik today called on Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and apprised him of various problems being faced by the Kishtwar campus.
The Minister was informed by the Director that Government has not released the financial grant of JU campuses for the last three years due to which the offsite campuses were facing a great financial crunch. If the financial assistant is not provided to the campus within a month the campus will not able to provide the salaries of its employees, he explained, adding that the file regarding financial assistant to the campuses was pending in Planning Department as well as Higher Education Department for the clearance.
Shohab also rued that permanent faculty positions were created for Kashmir University campuses last year but the JU campuses were ignored in this regard by Higher Education Department. He demanded that permanent teaching and non-teaching posts be created in the campus so that it could run effectively.
Prof Shohab also informed that ground floor of the Academic block as well as Girls Hostel will be furnished by the end of September.
The Minister assured to raise all the issues with the concern department as well as with the Chief Minister.
