JAMMU, Jan 21: Apni Trade Union State president, Ajaz Kazmi has urged upon the Government to make a comprehensive policy for the protection of interests of shopkeepers and hoteliers while enforcing lockdown.
In a handout, Kazmi claimed that business community is suffering the most due to financial sectors and they are following COVID-19 SOPs both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir provinces.
“The shopkeepers and hoteliers should be permitted to function as usual and proper checking should be done in markets to enforce SOPs and the violators should be punished as per the law,” he maintained adding that harassment on the name of COVID will not be tolerated.
Kazmi also demanded that the Government should frame a policy to compensate the business establishments which suffered losses in last year lockdown.
He said that the traders must be taken into confidence whenever lockdown decision is taken by the administration in respective districts.
