FIR against pvt construction company for illegal mining

RAJOURI, Jan 20: The Police has booked a private company engaged in vital road project for widening from Rajouri, Thannamandi to Bufliyaz for illegal mining.
The private company Dharam Raj Contracts India Pvt. Ltd has been engaged by Border Roads Organization for road widening project of Rajouri-Thannmandi-Bafliaz road.
The company was found indulged in illegal mining from river in Thanamandi by using the Excavator, Dumper and other machinery which causes huge loss to UT exchequer as mining was being done without paying  any royalty to Government and without any allotment of mining block thereby committing thefts of natural resources.
The company has decayed the river bed which is also causing the ecological imbalance and the level of the water has gone down.
The company illegally extracted RBM from natural source and crushed the same by stone crusher illegally installed  at village Plangar.
A huge stock of crushed materials approximately 70/80 thousands metric tonnes was also found on the crusher spot during inspection.
The Police said that continuing its drive against the menace of illegal mining a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Thannamandi police in which police party headed by SHO Mohd Showkat acting stringently on the specific inputs raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized one dumper and one excavator from the spot.
A case FIR No. 12/2022 under section 379/431/34 IPC has been registered at P/S Thannamandi and investigation is going on.
