BJP committed to separate budget for farmers: Sharma

JAMMU, Aug 6: The burning problems concerning the farming community of the State and people of the rural areas were threadbare discussed in BJP’s  Kissan Morcha Working Committee meeting which was held at Karan Palace on Akhnoor road near here today.
The BJP Prabhari of Morcha for J&K, Mool Chand Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. The meet among others was attended by BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma, State general secretary organization, Ashok Kaul, Morcha president Karan Singh Morcha Prabhari, Satsih Sharma and MLA Ch Sukhnandan.
Mool Chand Sharma, took UPA Government to task for the anti farmers policies and said that the BJP if voted to power is committed to bring a separate budget for farmers as 80 percent of the country’s population is linked to farming and farmers are the back bone of nation.
He said that the wrong policies of Congress were responsible for problems of farmers all over the country and that has been a cause of farmers committing suicides in various States in past.
Congratulated the State unit of Morcha for being in the fore front for betterment of the farming community, he expressed hope that the rural populace will get more- closer to BJP Morcha. He assured to raise the voice of farmers of the State at the national level also.
Addressing the meet, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the farmers in the State who are victims of natural unfavourable conditions and calamities, suffer further due to the incompetence, indifferent and apathetic attitude of the Government. He said that the BJP will continue to fight for the cause of the farmers.
Ashok Koul, said that the Party has constituted Kissan Morcha exclusively for the betterment of the farming community as it is committed for their welfare and upliftment.
Satish Sharma said that the Morcha has been highlighting the problems of the farmers across the State so that society becomes aware of their hardships. He asked the working committee members to get in regular touch with the farmers.
Karan Singh briefed the meet about Kissan Morcha’s activities undertaken during the last three months, which include meetings at districts, organizing protests and dharnas to highlight the plight of the farmers and seek justice for them.
Sukhnandan Kumar said that being an elected representative from rural area having maximum population of farmers, he has been raising the issues of farmers in the assembly from time to time.
