Declare holiday on Dec 26: SUF

JAMMU, Jan 12: While lauding decision of Govt of India dedicating Dec 26 as Veer Bal Diwas, Sikh United Front (SUF) today demanded national holiday on the day.
While addressing a joint meeting Sudershan Singh Wazir , Chairman Sikh United Front welcomed the decision of PM Narendra Modi for declaring December 26 of every year as Veer Bal Diwas acknowledging the supreme sacrifice of four Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. ” It is PM Modi’s gesture to make the world know about the momentous courage shown by Sahibzadas’ to the world which none of the governments in India’s past 325 years of history, has done so,” said Wazir
While lauding the decision of Government, he also demanded that Government must officially declare 26th of December a national holiday, as a token of respect towards the martyrdom of Sahibzadas- Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh , the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He added that sacrifices of Sikh Gurus, Sikh warriors and Sikh freedom fighters should be made part of NCERT curriculum so that every child in this country could be made aware of the rich Sikh history and take inspiration from their deeds.
