JAMMU, Dec 25: Bus Stand, Gujjar Nagar and Chanderkote Police arrested three drug peddlers including one auto driver along with heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information about drugs peddling, SHO Jammu Bus Stand led by SHO Inspector Deepankar Singh and assisted by ASI Rashpal Singh laid a naka and intercepted a passenger auto.
During checking, police team recovered 16.30 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and apprehended him.
The arrested person was identified as Vicky Kumar alias Pinku, son of Papu Kumar of Ward Number 48 Bazigarh Basti Bagh-e-Bahu District Jammu.
During preliminary questioning, the apprehended person disclosed that he deals in selling and purchasing of the heroin.
A case under FIR Number 84/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand Jammu and investigation set into motion.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Gujjar Nagar led by SI Nazarat Hussain under the supervision of SHO Gujjar Nagar Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK19A-0995.
During checking, police team recovered 14 grams heroin from the possession of the rider, who was identified as Adil Hameed, son of Abdul Hamed Bhat of Banihal, at present Lower Gujjar Nagar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation initiated.
Both the operations by Police Station Bus Stand and Police Post Gujjar Nagar were carried out under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa.
However, under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’, a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO Inspector Afzal Wani under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a tempo traveller bearing registration number JK02AS-5210.
During checking, police team recovered 20 grams heroin from the possession of a person travelling in the vehicle and apprehended him.
The arrested person was identified as Vijay Singh, son of Payar Singh, a resident of Kud District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 157/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
