SRINAGAR, Dec 14 High Court today directed the Jail Authorities to produce the former Board of Professional Entrance Examination Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Peer involved in Common Entrance Test-2013 paper scam before the Medical Board for his examination.
The Division Bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice M Akram Chowdhary has been informed that the Government Medical College, Srinagar was asked to constitute a Medical Board for facilitating the medical examination of the convicted-Peer and furnishing of the examination report.
It has further been added that in this regard communication was sent by the Medical Superintendent, SMHS Hospital Srinagar to Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar asking therein to produce the applicant-Peer on December 15 for getting him examined in tune with the court directions.
Court after this information submitted by the applicant’s counsel directed the Sr. AAG to ensure that the applicant is produced before the Medical Board on the appointed date and report in this regard be submitted before the court on next date.
It is noted that Peer was awarded sentence of 16 years and fine of Rs 1 Crore by the trial judge vide judgment dated 25th of April, 2018, in case bearing FIR No. 24/2013, of Crime Branch, Srinagar, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 420, 406, 201, 120-B of the RPC read with Section 5(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
