JAMMU, Nov 11: A delegation led by Chairperson Waqf Development Committee of Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi today met Karnataka Minister for Haj & Auqaf, Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle at Vikas Saundha, Bangalore.
CWC members Haneef Ali, Munawari Begum, Waseem R. Khan and Qari Haroon, T.O Naushad were also present in the delegation.
Dr. Andrabi met the minister after inspecting Karnataka Waqf sites, properties and records and submitted a proposal of fencing all the Waqf properties, lands and shrines throughout the State.
She said that encroachment and grabbing of Waqf properties throughout India can be checked by fencing Waqf land and its properties.
“I have submitted proposal to the Ministry of Minority Affairs also where from it will be issued for implementation at State and UT levels. Politicians, land grabbers and revenue embezzlements of Waqf properties in India during the past seven decades has been stopped and demarcation-fencing Waqf properties will stop any further grabbing of land,” claimed Dr. Andrabi.
Minister, Shashikala Jolle thanked Dr Andrabi for the proposal and its implementation structure and assured her that State Government will issue orders of the same at the earliest.
The delegation had a detailed discussion with the Minister regarding Waqf development and improving the infrastructure at famed Waqf managed shrines for religious tourism in Karnataka.
