Poonch, Nov 11: Advocate Ronik Sharma President All J&K Pahari Tribe Joint Forum said that after a gap of three decades there should be no further delay in scheduling of this category as Pahari tribe under the Constitution of India.
He said the demand for Schedule Tribe status had been raised from time to time by different groups at different platforms but nothing has been done. He said the winter session of the Parliament is schedule to be held from 29th of November and the deprived Pahari tribe is expecting that leaders of our great nation will feel and understand the plight of Pahari tribe and show their concern in favour of Pahari tribe.
Sharma alleged that despite a number of recommendations made in favour of Pahari tribe by the successive Governments in Jammu and Kashmir, till today no Schedule Tribe status has been granted to Pahari tribe by the Central Government.
“Pahari tribe hopes that the present Government will do justice this time with economically backward and poor Pahari tribe”, he added.
