KISHTWAR, Nov 11: Police arrested a notorious thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a person namely Sameer Ahmed Kichloo, son of Nazir Ahmed Kichloo of Pochhal with Police Station Kishtwar stating that some unknown thieves entered his shop in the night and decamped with some cash, groceries, some quantity of saffron and some other items.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 226/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Satish Kumar was constituted by SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt.
The team did hectic efforts and finally nabbed the notorious thief, who was identified as Chetak Sharma, son of Shiv Raj Sharma of Doori Sarthal District Kishtwar. On his disclosure, recovery of stolen property including saffron, cash garlands, mobile phone, police type uniform, iron rod and motorcycle has been affected from his house.
It is pertinent to mention here that to dodge and malign the image of police in the society, the accused person was wearing khaki jacket and trouser which looked like police uniform in the CCTV footages obtained from the premise.
