JAMMU, July 15: Harshdev Singh, NPP MLA and its chairman has rapped the School Education Department for the highly flawed and faulty transfer and adjustment policy announced by it with regard to adjustments of newly promoted Masters of Jammu province.
He said that the department needed to explain in the first instance the inordinate delay of eleven months caused in the adjustment of promotee Masters of Jammu region. Whereas their counterparts in Kashmir region were adjusted several months back, the adjustment orders of Jammu based Masters were kept pending thereby prejudicially affecting their promotion prospects as well, he explained.
Further flaying the criteria adopted for adjustment of the said Masters, Harshdev Singh questioned the logic and rationale behind changing the districts of promotee Masters in all districts despite availability of vacancies in their parent districts. He castigated in particular the transfer and adjustment of promotee Masters of Udhampur district to erstwhile Doda district despite huge vacancy position in Udhampur District. He pointed out that 76 promotee Masters of District Udhampur were ordered to be adjusted in erstwhile Doda district despite the fact that there were more than 100 vacancies of Masters in Udhampur district which had been kept unfilled. He said that majority of the said vacancies existed in the remote and backward areas of Ramnagar, Dudu Basantgarh, Ghordi and Majalta blocks.
Urging upon the School Education Minister to review the highly arbitrary whimsical and irrational adjustment policy of the Masters, he sought adjustment of Masters belonging to the bad pocket areas in their respective area schools and ordering of outside District transfers only in respect of surplus Masters. He further called for immediate issuance of adjustment orders of promotee Lecturers, HMs and ZEOs of Jammu region whose adjustments had been in-explicably delayed.
