Police starts training programme for investigating officers

SAMBA, Oct 11: Samba Police commenced two weeks training programme on developing “Investigation techniques/skills for its investigating officers at District Police Lines, here today.
SSP Samba, Rajesh Sharma, inaugurated the training programme and highlighted the importance of this training session chalked out to nurture investigating techniques with special reference to the latest development in handing crimes.
During the two-week programme, the trainees would learn about important provisions of the CrPC, POCSO, Juvenile Justice Act, Preservation of Scene of Crime, Physical Evidence, Preparation of Case Diaries, use of CCTNS in investigation and other police working. Besides, other issues faced during investigation would also be discussed.
During today’s training programme, the trainees were sensitized on different topics by expert speakers of Samba Police.
Gurpreet Kour, Sr. P. O. DPO Samba sensitized all the participants about the important sections of Cr. P.C, Special laws and procedure, POCSO Act-2012, Collection of Evidences, Juvenile Justice Act and other important laws procedures.
Inspector, Vijay Kumar, Reader to SSP Samba, apprised the participants about the Scene of Crime and its preservation, Procedure for proceeding with the cases and others.
The different types of case studies were also discussed during the Programme and the queries raised by the participant officers were replied by the resource persons.
At the end of the training Programme, SSP Samba urged upon all the participants to make optimum use of this opportunity to hone their investigation skills.
